Detailed Itinerary
As you fly into Kathmandu, the views of snow-capped mountain peaks greet you. A representative and driver from our office will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. The representative will help you check into your designated hotel. At the hotel you will be briefed about your daily activities.
Today, we will have a day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. We will visit three UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. We will begin with Pashupatinath.
The largest Hindu shrine in Kathmandu is worthwhile visiting to experience the Hindu culture and to explore around the historic and revered temple.
Then we head off to explore Boudhanath. At Boudhanath, we could witness many Buddhist devotees mainly of Tibetan origin circumambulating the largest stupa in the country. Post lunch, we drive to the center of medieval Nepal, Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Explore the magnificent monuments built during different eras at Kathmandu Durbar Square and also pay a visit to the home of Living Goddess, Kumari. Then you can stroll in the streets of Thamel while we arrange all your trekking documents (TIMS & National Park Permit) .
Today we will fly over the snowcapped mountains to one of the most thrilling high altitude airports, Tenzing-Hillary Airport of Lukla 2800m. Your Everest Base Camp trekking adventure kicks off here.
To begin the trek you will drop down almost 500 meters to Dudh Koshi River. Then the trek traverses along the trial beside Dudh Koshi River towards Phakding. Cross passing several mani walls and boulders engraved with Buddhist prayers at Ghat you will arrive to Phakding.
Today the trek follows the northern trial up the Dudh Koshi River valley to Monjo. The trek officially enters Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. Continue to trek steeply uphill, savoring the first glimpse of Everest and will arrive to the Sherpa capital Namche Bazaar. The next day will be a rest day to acclimatize at Namche. Today you will have you have a short hike around Namche for around 2-3 hours.
Rest day at Namche for acclimatization
Today our autumn sepcial trek to Everest Base Camp continues along the Bhote Koshi River. We cross the suspension bridge over the river and hike steeply uphill to Thame, a beautiful village in Khumbu which during the ancient days was the last trading post of the Indo Tibetan trading route.
Today before heading towards Khumjung, we will explore the famous monastery in Thame. Then we retrace on the trail before it deviates from the retracing trail and goes uphill towards Khumjung. Khumjung is a beautiful Sherpa village in Khumbu lying at the foothills of sacred mountain Khumbilla. The first Everest conqueror, Sir Edmund Hillary has established a school in Khumjung 1961. Arrive at Khumjung and explore around to discover Hillary’s community projects in the village.
Today begin the trek cross passing the Dudh Koshi River gorge, and cross pass the most pleasant valley as you will arrive to beautifully located Tengboche Monastery. Tengboche Monastery, one of the most sacred monasteries of Khumbu has Mt. Ama Damlam at its backdrop which is the eye feasting view for sure. The monastery is also the home to Guru Rimpoche of Tengboche.
Today’s trek chases the main trial of Everest Base Camp and drops down to Pangboche along the pleasant rhododendron forest. We keep on trekking through this pleasant trail, while wew witness the striking view of Mt. Ama Dablam and eventually reach to Dingboche.
Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization
Today continue Everest Base trek along the base of the valley to Dughla and then to Lobuche. The trek today enters the real height and the treeless zone. Lobuche is a small village where villages do not prefer to stay during winter. However, for our trek we will have teahouse for the accommodation and food.
Enjoy the first hour trekking along the easy leveled trail. Then slide up and again tread the leveled trail to come across the glacial moraines all the way to Gorakshep. Enjoy the lunch at Gorakshep and begin the walk of your lifetime. The trek to Everest Base Camp is five hours round trip on the glacial moraines, which extend from Khumbu Icefall . At Everest Base witness the mighty Everest standing right before your eyes. Capture the moments at EBC and trek back to Gorakshep.
Today we will trek on the hill of black rocks, Kalapattar. Kalapattar is a vantage point for the magnificent whole view of Everest and its siblings. Begin the trek early explore Kalapattar and trek down back to Gorakshep for the breakfast. Post breakfast we will being the trek on the retracing trail all the way down to Periche.
The trail goes straight till the river then goes ascending. There are some tea houses on the route. You can have the views of several mountain ranges.
Today also the trail goes slightly ascending up to Dingboche.
We will trek down back to Lukla
Today you will fly to Kathmandu. As you arrive to Kathmandu, you will have free time to explore around on your own.
