Discover the Great Himalaya Trail (GHT), Nepal’s Ultimate Trekking Odyssey

The Great Himalaya Trail (GHT) is one of the longest, most diverse, and most challenging trekking routes in the world, spanning over 1,700 kilometres across the entire length of Nepal. From the remote wilderness of the Far West to the snow-capped peaks of the East, the trail offers an epic journey through Nepal’s stunning landscapes, rich cultures, and high Himalayan wilderness.

The GHT connects eight of the world’s fourteen 8,000-meter peaks, including Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Annapurna, while weaving through alpine passes, ancient villages, deep forests, and sacred valleys. It is a rare opportunity to experience the true essence of Nepal, both culturally and geographically.

The trail is divided into two primary routes:

  • Upper GHT Route:  A high-altitude, remote trail ideal for experienced and adventurous trekkers.

  • Lower GHT Route:  A more accessible, culturally rich journey through mid-hill villages, forests, and farmland.

Flexible GHT Programs  and Trek in Sections, Trek Your Way

At Explore Dolpo Treks & Expedition (P) Ltd, we recognise that most trekkers may not be able to complete the entire GHT in one visit. That’s why we offer the trail in sectional programs, allowing you to complete the GHT over multiple visits, at your own pace. Each section is carefully planned to provide a fulfilling and self-contained experience while still contributing to your overall GHT journey.

To suit different preferences and travel styles, we organise GHT treks on a fully camping or semi-camping (lodge + camp) basis. Whether you’re looking for a rugged, off-the-grid adventure or a more comfortable, supported experience, we tailor each program to match your budget, interest, and comfort level.

From logistics and permits to guides and gear, we handle every detail so you can focus on the adventure ahead.

Embark on the journey of a lifetime one section at a time, in your style, at your pace.
