From Phoksundo, the trail contours along a narrow cliff path with panoramic views of the lake. The landscape transitions into alpine terrain as you reach the peaceful pine and birch forest campsite of Sallaghari.
A steady ascent takes you deeper into the upper Dolpo wilderness. The trail winds through a stark, rocky landscape until you reach Nangdala High Camp, located just below tomorrow’s high pass.
