Trip Overview

Circumnavigating the fascinating trails that go around Mt. Manaslu is a sheer trekking adventure in the Himalayas of Nepal, having all highlights of a typical trekking holiday in the Himalayas- Manaslu Circuit Trek

Manaslu 8,163 m, is the 8th highest mountain in the world that stands centrally isolated in the Himalayas. The trek around the base camp of Manaslu Peak,  is probably one of the least explored trekking regions in Nepal during the springs.

Manaslu Circuit trek not only caters exceptional views of diverse landscapes throughout it also offers an opportunity to tread along low and elevated trails that have abundant floral and faunal biodiversity and wide cultural spectrum. To be precise the Tibetan culture blended so well with Nepalese ethnical tribes is a noteworthy exploration during Manaslu Circuit Trek.

The series of ups and downs the trail that winds through the deep valleys of Budi Gandaki River and Dudh Khola eventually ends up taking you to the Base Camp of Manaslu Base Camp. While trekking down back to the lower elevation from the Base Camp, Larkya La Pass 5135 comes in between, which makes this trek a seriously challenging walking adventure in the Himalayan foothills of Nepal.

The final days of the Manaslu Circuit Trek wind through the trails of the globally renowned Annapurna Circuit Trek to Besisahar, where the trek ends.

Most Common FAQs

Manaslu is located in the Mansiri Himal range of the Nepalese Himalayas, in Gorkha District, central Nepal. It is the eighth highest mountain in the world, with an elevation of 8,163 meters (26,781 feet) above sea level.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is considered moderately to highly difficult, depending on your fitness and experience. Trekkers often face challenges like altitude sickness, long hiking days, unpredictable weather, and the tough climb over Larke La Pass at 5,106 meters. Despite the demands, it’s a rewarding trek through remote and stunning Himalayan landscapes. But an ideal company will reflect the best of them to ensure the best possible trek, dealing with all the challenges and difficulties. The company ensures the program with the proper time for the acclimatisation of the trekkers and walking destinations in the best possible way.

The total cost of the Manaslu Circuit Trek typically ranges from $1,100 to $2,000, to $3500 depending on your choice of services, group size, and trekking style. Budget travellers can manage with a lower cost by joining groups or choosing basic services, while those opting for more comfort or private transport may spend more. Overall, it's a cost-effective trek compared to Everest or Annapurna, offering remote beauty and cultural richness.

The Manaslu trek has grown in popularity due to its perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural authenticity, and fewer crowds. It offers a remote and off-the-beaten-path experience compared to the more commercialised Everest and Annapurna regions. Trekkers are drawn to the dramatic mountain scenery, including views of Manaslu (8,163m), the challenging yet rewarding Larke La Pass, and the chance to walk through traditional Tibetan-influenced villages. With rich biodiversity, suspension bridges, glaciers, and ancient monasteries, it delivers a truly immersive Himalayan adventure, all while maintaining a sense of peace and solitude.

Manaslu is designated as a restricted area by the Nepalese government to help preserve its natural environment, cultural heritage, and maintain security near the sensitive Tibet (China) border. This region is home to ethnic Tibetan communities and contains fragile ecosystems, so stricter controls help manage tourism, protect local culture, and prevent environmental degradation. To trek here, visitors must obtain special permits and be accompanied by a licensed guide, which ensures sustainable and responsible tourism.
